Kim Johnson was born in Windsor, Ontario Canada and has spent the better half of her life in the United States. She is currently working out of her studio in Jacksonville, Florida.
Kim received her degree in Graphic Design from George Brown College in Toronto, Canada in 1987 and attended Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan for Fine Art and Illustration from 1990 - 1993.
Kim's love of modern art and architecture fuels her abstract design aesthetic. Kim's paintings often have a mix of natural and graphic influences. She loves to take natural subjects and re-imagine them into abstract form.
In 2013, one of Kim's abstract paintings was commissioned by the Intercontinental Hotel to supply art in every room of their remodeled hotel in Century City, CA. Her work has also been published in various magazines including Elle Decor Germany, Ready Made Magazine and Uppercase Magazine.
