Kim Johnson was born in Windsor, Ontario Canada and has spent the better half of her life in the United States. She currently is working out of her studio in Jacksonville, Florida.

She received her degree in Graphic Design from George Brown College in Toronto, Canada, and attended Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan for Fine Art and Illustration.

Her love of modern art, nature and architecture fuels her design aesthetic. Her paintings and collages often have a mix of natural and graphic influences. She loves to take natural subjects and re-imagine them into abstract form as well as creating stylized illustrations of everything in the natural world.

In 2013, one of Kim's abstract paintings was commissioned by the Intercontinental Hotel chain to supply art in every room of their remodeled historic hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. Her work has also been seen on the Today Show, published in various magazines, blogs and shops including West Elm, Indigo Canada, Elle Decor Germany, Ready Made Magazine, Uppercase Magazine, Print and Pattern and more.
