Dahlov Ipcar (1917 - 2017) was an American illustrator and author. She was best known for her colorful modern paintings featuring farm animals and wild animals. Her paintings and illustrations were very unique and colorful and were host to many children's books. At the age of 21, she had her first solo painting exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Her first children's book entitled, "The Little Fisherman", was published in 1945 and is still in print today. She was very prolific and went on to write and illustrate 30 more children's books. She continued to paint up to age 99, where she spent her last days at her easel. I hope this inspires you to keep on creating, no matter your age! If you would like to read about her life, read her essay entitled, "My Family, My Life, My Art."
